I understand that you are offering energy healing to the public. Can you explain how you have used energy healing in your counseling and coaching practice. What effects have you seen with your clients? 
Energy Healing & Spiritual Coaching with Cathy Cathy: In my counseling & coaching practice, I use vibrational energy and sound healing as a healing strategy, and mindfulness training tool. I most often use vibrational tuning forks, as well as Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, bells, rattles, or a Shamanic Drum to help interested clients tune their attention to their highest self, to release anger and hurt feelings, and experience themselves as whole, healthy, and balanced on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. I also use some specialized crystals to open and balance the individual chakras, or the primary energy centers of the body. After assessing each of the chakras using a special pendulum, I am able to focus on freeing blocked or clogged energy centers which often helps client's break through, returning to a sense of equilibrium, relaxation, and joy. I often perform crystal extractions, which is based on my intuitive understanding of shamanic healing strategies. Crystal healing works very well with the vibrational sound healing and seems to put an extra charge to the healing. Clients quickly, as in 10-20 minutes, are able to move from a stuck or closed down emotional space. Smiles and laughter, a big sigh of release, are common. This is especially helpful when talk therapy is making little impact to help move client from a stuck place of mental anguish and emotional suffering. While there is little scientific evidence that vibrational sound is effective for emotional and psychological healing, we can all agree that life is made up of atoms and energy. |

Clients can learn to release tension and areas of heaviness, develop an intuitive understanding of where they may be prone to carry stifled energy, and learn to use their own conscious breathing to promote a healing release of blocked energy. Energy healing can be helpful to address possible emotional blocks that are interfering with physical wellness.
One of the greatest benefits I've seen is that client's can develop greater self-insight, and therefore are able to rebound faster when faced with challenging life events that would normally trigger feelings of contraction. Clients then have more choice; do they sit with the uncomfortable feelings and breathe into the areas of contraction until they are released, or do they utilize a past coping skill that may or may not serve them? Clients typically discover that having greater awareness to their inner world and having past success in fully sitting with uncomfortable, stressful, or emotional reactions (even for short periods of time), helps them feel more empowered and stronger to handle their current and new life challenges. This can be one of the valuable benefits of working with vibration and sound.
Several clients report an improvement in symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and even pain. Others report sensing their energy open and shift, reporting a first hand experience of kundalini energy raising up to the third and crown chakras (an experiential understanding of the Spiritual Heart of Awareness), and for others they simply report feeling better and more relaxed afterwards. What I've observed, and from client's feedback, is that when this stuck energy is released, they feel better. Often they report feeling free.
I also use energy healing (specially vibrational sound) as an alternative method to help clients learn what a meditative (quiet mind) or altered state of Consciousness feels like, making it easier for them to relax into this relaxed state on their own. Often clients are quite sensitive to these energetic vibrations. I've found it to be an easy way, or short cut, to mindfulness and helping clients get even momentarily breaks from their constant stream of thoughts, helping them experience what is present when their thoughts stop, their unchanging true nature which is present-moment awareness. |

This often helps clients find inspiration to deepen their meditation or mindfulness practice, and to develop less identification with their random thoughts especially those that are self-defeating. Also important to this process is for clients to start identifying energetic areas within the body that may feel contracted (e.g. solar plexus, heart, throat, etc), then use mindful breathing and attention to release these areas.
If clients can direct their attention and breathing to these areas of contraction, a felt release can happen; this is known as moving from a space of contraction to expansion. Therefore, vibrational sound or energy work has become a useful tool in my practice to help clients learn how to find that peaceful part of themselves.

Private vibrational and sound sessions are offered in private professional office, and occasionally home setting with optional guided meditation that will focus on a theme of your choice (healing the emotional heart, moving from a space of contraction to expansion, opening to the creative energy of spirit, aligning life force energy/ chakra balancing, activating energy centers, expansion into spacial awareness, training attention to relax and focus, deepening the meditative experience, and heightening the spiritual connection to the Divine Consciousness and its limitless potential of how it wants to express itself).
